The Hip
Bumps were used in the 70′s and 80′s to create ‘pivot’ points in the planshape. Single double and triple flyer swallows and pins were very common, and worked beautifully in the times when volume was the norm. This model, the Bump is an exaggerated version of the Hip. The hip near the tail is now an actual bump in the planshape. This accentuates the difference between the wider part of the board above the bump, and the narrower tail section below that point.
